Profile picture maker
Start with a selfie, a half-length or a full-length photo. Choose where you want to be, let the light and skin touch-ups adjust to your own face, and save a picture sized for a messenger, a feed or a story.
Add one photo with your face — a selfie, upper-body or full-length photo all work (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC).

Tips for the best result
- Face a window or soft light. Backlight is fixed automatically, but light from the front looks most natural.
- Hold the camera at eye level. For a full-length picture, stand 2–3 m away with your feet in the frame; the background and shadow then fit best.
- Keep your head and shoulders in the picture with a little space above the hair.
- Look straight at the camera with a relaxed expression. Sunglasses and suits fit a face looking straight ahead best.
- A plain background makes the cut-out cleaner.
Your photo stays on this device. Only the AI model files (about 18 MB the first time, up to 22 MB more for clothes, watch and shoes) and the backgrounds you pick are downloaded from this site.

Brings your brightness and colour towards the background and lets its light wrap around your outline, so the photo looks taken there. Your eye level is set on the background's horizon automatically.
Adjust the background
Retouching needs a face looking towards the camera. Try a photo where the whole face is visible.
The retouching amounts are set for each photo by measuring its face, light and skin. Face shape and features stay as they are.
Shows how much of your own face is kept. Changes to face shape, eyes and nose lower it most; 90% or more looks natural.
Getting the AI that finds clothes and body ready… (first time only)
Clothes, suit, watch and shoes change once the AI that finds the body's shape is downloaded (about 16 MB and 6 MB, first time only). Your face is not changed, and the photo never leaves this device.
Drag the picture to move it. Pinch or use the mouse wheel to zoom.
A transparent background is saved as PNG (JPG cannot be transparent).
Your photo never leaves this device. Everything runs in your browser.
How to use it
- Add a photo that shows your face, or tap ‘Take a selfie’ on a phone. A selfie, an upper-body photo and a full-length photo all work.
- Open the ‘Background’ tab and pick a scene, from studio colours to beaches, cities and landmarks. ‘Adjust the background’ moves and zooms it; ‘Blurred’, ‘Transparent’, ‘Any colour’ and ‘My picture’ are there too.
- In ‘Face’, the touch-ups are already set for this photo. Change them if you like, and add make-up with one of five lip colours.
- In ‘Makeover’, try a ‘One-tap makeover’, or change the hair colour, clothes and accessories one at a time.
- Choose a ‘Mood’ and the ‘Framing’, set ‘Where will you use it?’, then press ‘Save picture’. On a phone, ‘Share’ sends it straight to an app.
What it does
Real places, not painted backdrops
284 photos of beaches, resorts, yachts, nature, flowers and seasons, cities at night, landmarks, cafés and stages, plus 20 studio and colour backdrops. Each language starts with places popular in its own country.
Blending that matches the scene
Your brightness and colour are brought towards the background, its light wraps around your outline, and your eye level sits on the scene's horizon. In full-length pictures your feet stand on the ground with a soft shadow.
Touch-ups that keep your face
Skin, spots, dark circles, eye clarity and teeth are adjusted by amounts measured on this photo. Changes to the face shape are kept small, and the ‘Face kept’ meter shows how much of your own face remains.
Makeovers in one tap
Thirteen themes, with the ones for your country first, change the background, mood, clothes and accessories together. Every part can be changed again afterwards.
Hair, clothes and accessories
Eleven hair colours, clothes recoloured without losing their folds, a suit jacket with or without a tie, sunglasses, earrings, a necklace and a watch.
Sized for where it goes
Square with a round preview for messengers and social profiles, 4:5 for feed posts and 9:16 for stories and phone wallpapers. Save as JPG, as PNG with a transparent background, or as WebP.
Good to know
A profile picture is mostly seen as a small circle, so the face needs to be clear and evenly lit, and the background should add something without drawing the eye away. The maker works on your own photo and changes only what you ask for. It does not generate a new face, so the picture still looks like you.
The background photos are CC0 or public-domain pictures from Wikimedia Commons, and the maker names the author and source of the one you use. Each comes with a depth map, so it blurs like a camera lens would: more behind a close-up, less behind a full-length shot, with the ground at your feet kept sharp.
Use the result for messenger apps, social networks, community or gaming profiles, or a work profile where a relaxed photo is welcome. For passports and other official documents, use the passport and ID photo maker instead: offices do not accept retouched or composited photos.
Questions and answers
Can I change only the background?
Yes. Pick a background and leave ‘Face’ and ‘Makeover’ as they are. Turn off ‘Fix light, backlight and colour automatically’ if you want to keep your original light as well.
Can the background be transparent?
Choose ‘Transparent’ in the ‘Background’ tab. The picture is then saved as a PNG, because a JPG cannot be transparent.
Why does my hair look rough at the edge?
Fine hair against a busy background is the hardest part of any cut-out. A photo taken in front of a plain wall gives the cleanest edge, and ‘Outline (softer – crisper)’ lets you adjust it.
Is it free, and is my photo private?
It is free, with no account, no watermark and no limit, and your photo stays on your device. Only the AI model files and the backgrounds you pick are downloaded from this site.
What size is the saved picture?
1080 px on the short side for profiles, feeds and stories, or 2048 px for a phone wallpaper. If your photo is smaller, it is enlarged and the maker tells you by how much, so you can use a closer photo for a sharper result.
