Korean passport photo maker, 35 × 45 mm
Korea checks the face size from the chin to the crown, the eyebrows and the outline of the face. The maker runs those checks and saves a print sheet or a 413 × 531 px file.

A selfie is fine. The photo is taken by itself only when position, shoulders, facing, expression and light are all right; size and framing are set automatically.
Add one photo of your face looking straight at the camera (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC).

How to take a photo that passes
- Stand about 1 m in front of a plain light wall, facing a window or soft light.
- A selfie is fine: hold the phone at arm’s length at eye level (both hands keep the shoulders level), face and shoulders square to it. A phone right in front of the face makes the nose and forehead look bigger.
- Look straight at the camera, mouth closed, both eyes open, hair off the eyes and ears.
- No hat, no tinted glasses; keep your shoulders in the picture.
- Use a photo taken in the last 6 months.
Your photo stays on this device. Only the AI model files (about 41 MB, once) are downloaded from this site.
Some things need a new photo
These problems cannot be fixed automatically. A new photo taken like this will most likely pass:
Checks
Your photo never leaves this device. Everything runs in your browser.
How to use it
- ‘1. Choose the document’ already shows Korean passport (35 × 45 mm). Switch with ‘Country’ or ‘Document and size’. ‘Show size and rules’ lists what the Korean passport photo asks for.
- For the Korean passport photo, press ‘Open the camera’ under ‘2. Add your photo’, or add a file. Sit square to the lens, shoulders level.
- Read the ‘Checks’. For Korean passport the head has to measure 32–36 mm, measured from the chin to the top of the head, hair not counted, on a white or off-white background. For Korean passport, anything under ‘Some things need a new photo’ comes with the reason and a retake tip.
- Open ‘Fine-tune’ to move the picture or set the Korean passport head size inside 32–36 mm. Keep ‘Face, hair and clothes’ on ‘No touch-ups’.
- For Korean passport: ‘Save file’ gives the online file (413 × 531 px for online applications); ‘Save print sheet’ puts copies on 4 × 6 in, 10 × 15 cm or 89 × 127 mm paper.
What it does
The rules for Korean passport
For Korean passport, ‘Show size and rules’ lists 35 × 45 mm, a head of 32–36 mm, a white or off-white background, and the rule on glasses: tinted glasses are not allowed and hair must not cover the eyes or the outline of the face.
The head measured the way this office measures it
For the Korean passport photo the head is measured from the chin to the top of the head, hair not counted. The maker applies that measure to the Korean passport frame, so hair does not skew the face size.
The file or the sheet you need
The Korean passport file follows the limits of the form: 413 × 531 px for online applications. A print sheet puts several copies on one page.
Good to know
Korean offices do not accept a photo whose background was removed or replaced, and they ask for a colour photo taken within the last six months. So the maker keeps your own wall and only evens out light; a plain pale wall in good daylight is the safest start.
The figures for Korean passport come from the maker’s rule card, checked in October 2026 against the issuing office’s published guidance, and rules change, so read the current Korean passport instructions before you submit.
Questions and answers
Can the background be changed to white for a Korean passport?
No. Removing the background or compositing onto white is not accepted for this document, so take the photo in front of a plain pale wall instead. The maker evens out brightness but leaves the background itself alone.
What size is the photo for Korean passport?
For Korean passport: 35 × 45 mm, with a head of 32–36 mm, measured from the chin to the top of the head, hair not counted. The background is white or off-white.
Is my Korean passport photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Your Korean passport photo is processed in your browser on your own device. Only the program and its picture models are downloaded.
